Goosnargh’s parish church of St Mary the Virgin moved closer to achieving its interior development fund total after £400 was raised at Saturday’s open garden event.

Parishioners James and Geraldine Hide hosted the afternoon in their flower-filled garden, with attractions featuring moths shown in their opened traps, butterflies in their breeding habitat of the wildflower meadow, there were plant and book sales and three competitions.

Organisers laid on traditional afternoon teas with an amazing selection of sandwiches and cakes – team members pictured are James and Geraldine (right) with (l-r) Fliss Pemberton, Linda Christopherson, Kathleen Fish and Eileen Roberts.
