Whitechaple Village Hall will open its doors to the public on Sunday, Septmber 15, after undergoing a £50,000 renovation.
Over the last eight months, work has taken place to reduce energy consumption, meaning new flooring, extra storage, decorating and a toilet upgrade to the bottom hall.
With Village Hall funds at an all-time low, the work was only possible thanks to a £40,000 grant from Lancashire Environmental Fund and support from trustees. A Lottery grant of £10,000 for new chair and table replacements has also been received.
It is also now also possible to install a marquee lining, with the aim of promoting the hall in Church Lane as a wedding reception venue.
Trustees now aim to raise another £25,000 to refurbish the toilets, wall and floor finishes to the entrance of the top hall, as well as a bar facelift.
All are welcome to attend the open day from 11am-2pm, when trustees will be on hand to talk through the progress that has been made and plans for the future.
Tea and homemade biscuits will also be served.
