True wintry scenes bring scenic delight after rain
PRETTY PICTURES: Snow fall in Chipping
It looked like winter had finally arrived early this week.
Chipping resident Graham Wilkinson caught these wintry scenes on camera on Monday after Sunday night’s snowfall.
Graham says the one of Parlick covered in a blanket of snow was taken from near Fish House Farm, just outside Chipping.
The second shows a ‘local resident’ showing off her sheepskin coat – essential protection if you stay out in all weathers during the winter months!
Forecasters were predicting the cold, sunny and mainly dry weather, with freezing temperatures and severe overnight frosts to continue throughout the week, with some freezing fog patches expected.
Today was expected to be largely dry with some sunny spells and light winds after a very frosty start, with the maximum temperature 0c.
Outlook for Thursday to Saturday is staying cold and dry with some bright or sunny spells and becoming cloudier and windier on Saturday.
The clear skies were being welcomed by many after months of rain, particularly in Chipping.
