Two young local gymnasts are looking forward to representing the North West in the Special Olympics GB National Games in Bath.
Eddie Horn, 10, and Katie Whittaker, 12, who are members of Garstang School of Gymnastics, will be competing for the first time at this National Competition.
This is the country’s largest sporting event for people with additional needs, and is held every four years.
Katie and Eddie will be joining 1,700 athletes taking part in 12 sports across five days.
They will each be competing on four pieces of apparatus - the floor, bars, vault and beam.
The proud duo will be accompanied at the games by their coach, Amanda Wrennalls.
Meanwhile many family and friends are travelling to Bath to give them encouragement and support.
The games will take place at the University of Bath with the Spectacular Opening Ceremony being held in the Royal Crescent, Bath on Wednesday August 28.
