Info evening on adoption

editorial image

Residents from the Longridge and Garstang areas are being invited to an adoption information evening tonight, Wednesday, February 13.

Would you consider offering a permanent home and family to a child who is not able to live with their birth family?

This is the question being asked and if you feel you would like to know more, the information evening is being held in the Cabinet Room C, County Hall, Fishergate Hill, Pitt Street, Preston, from 6pm to 8pm.

People who have adopted will be there to share their experiences, and social workers will also be available to answer any questions you might have, talk you through the process and offer confidential advice.

People from all backgrounds are needed, but you must be over 21, and living in Lancashire or close by.

But whatever your race, gender, sexuality, living arrangements, age and employment status LCC says it wants to hear from you.

What matters, says the council, is your personal qualities and that you are able to provide a loving home where you can support and look after a child throughout their childhood and beyond.

LCC is looking to place children from young babies up to the age of eight years.

One of the council’s greatest challenges is to find adoptive parents for children aged over four, either sex; children with special needs, disabilities, or unpredictable medical issues; sibling groups of two or more children; boys of all ages and dual heritage children of all ages.

All welcome, but if you can’t make it, please call 0800 0286349, visit www.lancashire.gov.uk/love.

Free and disabled parking is available at County Hall.
