Lancashire’s new Anglican Bishop, the Rt Rev Julian Henderson, has made two special new year videos for the Church of England in Lancashire’s YouTube channel.
He has taken the opportunity to send greetings to everyone living in the region at the start of the new year. That video is available now.
And from Thursday this week, a short new year greeting for Diocese churches and schools across the County will also be available to view and download. Churches are being asked to play the video at Sunday services this weekend and schools will play it at assemblies.
In it, the Bishop looks forward to the ‘limitless opportunities’ of the year ahead, and also issues a direct call to all parishes and schools to support his Summer Festival, due to take place on June 21 and 22 at Arnold KEQM School in Lytham, which will also incorporate a Evangelistic Mission Event.
Bishop Julian said: “It has been marvellous to be able to meet so many people during my first ‘Deanery Days’ which have taken place around the Diocese.
“I look forward to the limitless opportunities in 2014. I will spend more time in each of the Deaneries during the course of the year and I am looking forward to engaging in the many different areas of ministry across the Diocese.
He added: “I do hope that you will join me and make the Summer Festival a focus for your diary. We will celebrate, learn and discover what God has in store for us together.”
The greetings come less than three months after the Diocese of Blackburn launched its new YouTube channel by uploading a six minute ‘introduction’ interview with Bishop Julian, who is the Bishop of Blackburn.
Since then that interview has been viewed over 1100 times and many more videos have been uploaded, with total views now in excess of 3300.
