What does a young mum from Clitheroe have in common with pop superstar Harry Styles?
They have both donated their hair to a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer.
And for mum-of-two Lauren Scheidt it was the first time she had her long locks lopped in 22 years. And while she sports a trendy new bob cut the hair she sacrificed will be donated to the Litte Princess charity that makes wigs for children who are undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
Lauren, who is a friend of the Foundation for Ribble Valley Families, had her hair cut at the Ribbledales Children’s Centre in Clitheroe, watched by staff, volunteers friends and family including her children Alex (three) and six-year-old Karla.
Along with the hair she donated Lauren managed to raise £340 in sponsorship for the charity. The next fund raising event for the Foundation will be an anniversary ball to be held on Friday, July 1st, at Bashall Barn. Ella Shaw who is a director for the charity will be performing at the ball which wil include a glass of prosecco on arrival, three course meal, auction and a live band. Tickets are £45.00 with all proceeds going to The Foundation for Ribble Valley Families. For tickets please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
