Parking charges are to be waived for shoppers and visitors at council-operated car parks in Clitheroe town centre on Saturdays throughout December.
The charges are being waived as part of the council’s annual festive business boost.
Free parking will be on offer to shoppers and visitors for up to three hours at council-operated car parks in Clitheroe town centre on Saturday, December 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th.
Ribble Valley Borough Council leader Stuart Hirst said the council was delighted to do its bit to boost trade during the festive season.
He said: “The council has been offering free festive parking at its car parks for some years now and the initiative has proved a great success.
“A lot of hard work goes into making Christmas in Ribble Valley special, which this year includes the Northern Star festive extravaganza at Clitheroe Market and the Platform Gallery featuring some of the finest artisan food and craft makers in the North West.
“So forget the hustle and bustle of the city, and take advantage of free parking in Clitheroe to see what its unique, independent shops have to offer.”
Charges will be waived at council-operated car parks in Clitheroe town centre, but normal charges will apply at the Edisford Road Car Park in Clitheroe and village car parks.
The free parking is available for up to three hours per vehicle, after which a parking ticket will have to be purchased.
Retailers and workers are reminded that the free parking is for the benefit of customers and visitors.
