It’s a Knockout is coming to the outskirts of Longridge on Saturday, June 14, and it is hoped as many as possible will attend.
And there is set to be a double dose of fun, with a show party at 7pm featuring DJ Pap plus local band One Minute and the legendary Rockits, with their Beatles tribute act plus 50s and 60s hits.
There will be side stalls, food and a bar at the It’s a Knockout and organisers are urging teams of 10 friends or work colleagues who are game for a laugh to enter.
There will be inflatables, obstacles and lots of bubbles to battle with throughout the day.”
Hosting the event in the grounds of Little Town Dairy and Farm at Thornley will be the JWU Foundation, the charity set up in memory of tragic teenager Joshua Unsworth to raise awareness of issues that affect young people and to raise funds for the area’s young.
Organisers add: “We are hoping this will be a great fundraiser.”
Further information, as well as how to enter the competition, can be found at www.jwufoundation.com Entry to the evening show is by ticket only, costing £10 each.
Although shocked and saddened by Josh’s death, his family and friends got together and organised last summer’s J-Fest, a charity music festival held in his memory to mark what should have been his 16th birthday, raising just over £21,000.
Because this created such a positive buzz, Josh’s dad, Gary Unsworth, and Josh’s friend Charlotte Liptrot decided to launch the foundation in his memory, to secure a legacy for the future and to make sure young people have something to look forward to.
