An event to raise funds for the Royal Preston Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Longridge raised £277.59.

Held by local mum Elly Hollinghurst at the Limes Nursery, Elly decided to fund raise for the unit after her healthy daughter was born in August 2012, to help other parents who weren’t as fortunate as her, and whose children were born too early, too small or with severe problems.

The event involved face painting, nearly new baby items’ sale, cake stall, raffle and refreshments.

Elly would like to thank Mary Frances, Tienne, No 65, Anji’s Emporium, Booths, Swifts, Hush, Heritage, the Co-op, Longridge Pet Shop, Linnets, Right Price, Lloyds Pharmacy, Station Cafe, Sainsburys, Berry Antiques and Interiors and Berry Lane News for doanting raffle prizes, and also everyone who kindly donated baby clothes and equipment for the baby items’ sale.

Also a big thank you to those at The Limes and at Longridge Young People’s Service who helped organise the event.
