The already award winning Longridge Community Gym is now celebrating gaining a double success at the Lancashire Sports Awards.
Gym leaders Shereen Salmon and Angela Harrison have both received awards from Lancashire Sport and the Olympic Legacy Sports Makers project for their commitment and hard work in ensuring that the whole community can take part in sporting activities.
They said: “We have all been committed to involving everyone in our classes and events and these awards are a real recognition of everything we are achieving at the Community Gym.”
The popular fitness classes, walking and cycling events held by the gym have also supported member Katie Grayston in raising £100 for the NSPCC.
Katie has also raised funds for the children’s charity by completing the gruelling 230 miles of the London to Paris cycle ride and her total so far has reached £400.
Vibes School of Dance has just launched new classes in the civic hall and Community Gym members enjoy a reduction in price for these.
Angela recommends members, and anyone intending to join the gym, to start the weekend early and join Hayley on Friday nights for zumba sessions or to try something new and have a go at the tap dancing classes.
Zumba sessions run from 5.30pm to 6.30pm, adult tap runs from 6.45pm to 7.45pm and then there is zumba again for an hour from 8pm to 9pm.
