The recent PACT meeting in Longridge heard that increases in dog-fouling and litter-dropping were still a problems around the town.

Members had also heard that police priorities at the moment were speeding and car parking. A leaflet drop was being organised to warn drivers about this, speciallly in Market Place and when people were going to the Palace cinema. PACT councillor Sarah Rainford, speaking at the town council meeting, said the council should congratulate Palace owner Dorothy Williamson on running such a successful business, but could she please ask customers to choose where they park ‘with more sensitivity’ for other road users. Insensitive parking in the space by the War Memorial on Berry Lane is to be dealt with by a sign for ‘loading and unloading only.’ The next PACT meeting is on Wednesday August 20 7pm at the Heritage Centre.
