Police were called to an attempted break-in at a local primary school on Wednesday (28 December).

A security alarm sounded after an intruder forced a side door of Oliverson's Church of England Primary School on Mill Lane in Goosnargh at around 10.30pm, say police.

The alarm alerted a security company who in turn contacted the police.

Headteacher Helen Sant said: "The school alarm went off at around midnight on 27th December. Security company investigated and informed the police and headteacher. They found an open window but nothing had been disturbed.
