A morning event popular with young and old alike in Longridge has raised more than £2,000 in the year since it began at St Paul’s Church.
And the two founders and organisers of the Brew Time, sessions held every Wednesday, mum Kath Cowell and vicar’s wife Claire Anderson, are proud of the weekly gathering which fills a much-needed gap for friendship and support in the parish.
Money raised so far has helped to support the work of St Pauls and St Lawrence parish, and has also paid for a lifesaving defibrillator for St Paul’s.
Following its installation, nearly 50 regular church attenders aged 11 to 70 have undertaken HeartStart training.
Kath and Claire say they are touched that Brew Time means a lot to so many people.
They thank all their regulars and encourage more people to call in every Wednesday in St Paul’s Church from 8.45am-11am, and enjoy tea, coffee, toast, cakes and crumpets.
