Ladies of the local WI groups descended on Barton Grange Garden Centre for the arrival of a specially designed centenary baton to mark the organisation’s milestone year.

Members from across the district came together for the celebrations and gathered for a coffee and cake at the centre in Brock as the baton made its way through to Lancaster Castle.

It arrived in Lancashire last week and has travelled to various landmarks. Photos taken at each location have been uploaded to a memory stick stored in the baton and will be shared on social media sites to keep everyone in touch and allow people to track the baton’s progress as it travels around the British Isles.
