A coffee morning in aid of a cancer charity has raised hundreds of pounds.

Members of Longridge and Grimsargh Weight Watchers held their extremely successful Coffee Morning at Grimsargh Club, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

More than 60 people attended the event and enjoyed hot drinks and cake, some of which were said to have been healthy ones.

There was also a beautiful home crafted jewellery stall and stalls laden with plants, books and greetings cards.

The event raised more than £500.

Longridge and Grimsargh Weight Watchers’ leader Claire Anderson said the support had been amazing.

She said: “We were overwhelmed with the support from our fellow Weight Watcher members and members of the local community.

“It was a lovely, fun morning and all for such a good cause.

“It was so successful, Grimsargh Club have asked us to do the same again next year!

“We also made a donation to the fund for the Grimsargh Club defibrillator which has just been installed.”

Claire runs six Weight Watchers’ meetings in Longridge and Grimsargh, all on Wednesdays and Thursdays, every week.
