A guide map to the World War One Battlefields of Flanders won student Isabelle Pugh the top prize in a competition for schools in Lancashire.

A year nine student at Oakhill School, Whalley, Isabelle entered the Western Front Association’s North Lancashire branch’s contest and her design was based on her experiences of visiting Ypres during a cycling tour with school.

And Isabelle has donated a chunk of her £100 prize money, presented by the WFA’s Terry Dean, to Talbot House where she stayed in Poperinge, Belgium, a former home for wounded soldiers, now a retreat and museum.
