Two country inns in the Longridge and Garstang area have been acquired by Mitchell’s of Lancaster.
The Stags Head, in Goosnargh, and the Horns Inn, at Churchtown, have been bought by Mitchells, a family company with more than 140 years of experience in the licensed trade.
Last year the award winning Stag’s Head, in Whittingham Lane, suddenly closed and its future was thrown into doubt when the fittings were stripped out.
The shut down in March 2012 shocked locals coming just one year after it won a pub of the year award.
Meanwhile, The Horns Inn was only given a £370,000 refit of this year after being closed for two and a half years.
The two pubs have been refurbished with the The Stags continuing to be run by Eduardo and Aileen Albero, while Rebecca Dale is in charge at The Horns.
The new home cooked winter menus are now being served and head chefs Matthew Gott (at The Horns) and John Dawson at (The Stags) use local seasonal ingredients for a selection of daily specials.
