TWO people with Longridge connections are celebrating this week after being named in the Queen's Birthday honours.
Top chef Paul Heathcote, who made his name at The Longridge Restaurant and has retained close links with the town, has been awarded the MBE for services to the hospitality industry in the North West.
And Longridge resident Phil Hargreaves, Head of Estates at NHS North Lancashire, has also been awarded an MBE for his services to children with autism in Lancashire.
Phil has worked as a school governor at Hillside School in Longridge for 20 years and has chaired the governing body for the past 15 years.
Phil is also a committed life member of the National Autistic Society and he spends much of his spare time helping families deal with autism and fundraising for autistic charities.
