Angela and her art go to Hollywood!

Art success: Angela Warwick at work

A Goosnargh artist has been propelled to the bright lights of Hollywood after her New York painting was spotted by film director Danny Boyle.

The award-winning director saw Angela Warwick’s work on the front cover of a national art magazine, Art of England.

To be featured on the front cover of such a prestigious production is an achievement in itself.

But after attracting his attention, Mr Boyle then asked Angela’s permission for the image to be used in his next film ‘Trance.’

It was her No.19 in the New York Series that hit the Hollywood jackpot.

The painting was chosen by Fox Searchlight Ltd to be used in Mr Boyle’s newest oeuvre.

It is a high-energy psychological thriller set in contemporary London, starring James McAvoy and set to be released next month.

The request stunned the creator, also known as Angie, whose work is exhibited locally.

Angie was struck with disbelief when she heard that Danny Boyle was interested in using the painting.

She said:“I was at home painting. I just did not believe it. It sounded too good to be true. I was flattered and excited. That kind of a thing doesn’t happen every day!”

Since the news, Angela has achieved another milestone - the record sale of $12,500 for one of her New York paintings. Other examples of her work are at Ascot Studios, off Preston Road in Ribchester, within the Bee Mill complex.
