Local employers help out at the high school
Asking questions: Those who went along to do interviews, together with staff members
Year 11 pupils at Longridge High School had an exceptionally busy week.
Not only did they receive their school reports with estimated final GCSE grades, but once they had opened their envelopes, they were put immediately into interview situations in the school hall with representatives of a series of colleges and local employers.
The students’ estimated grades were used as a focus for the interviews with representatives from James Hall, Obas, Sainsburys, Apprenticeships R Us and the police, and they were able to test their interview techniques and discuss grades needed for future careers.
A school spokesman said: “The event was highly successful and the colleges and local employers were extremely complimentary about the maturity of all our Year 11s”
Dave Allen, of James Hall, said: “It was a pleasure, the school can and should be proud of its pupils.”
