Roads will be closed around Nateby over the next few days, while sections of wind turbines are delivered to Orchard End windfarm.

A spokesman for Reg Windpower said: “Following discussions with Lancashire County Council and the police, we plan to deliver the turbine tower sections, rotor blades and nacelles (which house the generators) on Thursday February 28, Saturday, March 2, Monday, March 4 and Thursday, March 7.

“Unfortunately, this means roads on the delivery route will be closed during the load delivery to vehicle traffic by order of Lancashire County Council.

“We anticipate the closures to be from 10am to noon. Should delays occur, roads will be closed no later than 3pm. Roads will be reopened as soon as the loads reach the wind farm site.”

Closures will affect: Longmoor Lane, Nateby, from its junction with A6 Garstang By Pass Road to Skitham Lane, Pilling; Parkside Lane, Garstang, from Longmoor Lane for five metres to the south; Nateby Crossing Lane, Nateby, from Longmoor Lane for five metres to the north; Kilcrash Lane, Nateby, from Longmoor Lane for five metres to the north; Cartmell Lane, Nateby, from Longmoor Lane for five metres to the west; Woods Lane, Nateby, from Skitham Lane for five metres to the north; Skitham Lane, Pilling, from Longmoor Lane to Lancaster Road, Out Rawcliffe.

Vehicles will not be allowed to park on the road through Nateby.

The spokesman added: “Road closure staff will provide information on the duration of the closure, should residents wish to wait for the road to open once the delivery has passed. Vehicle access to properties on closed lengths of road, including Nateby Primary School, will be maintained wherever possible, subject to police supervision and operational requirements.”
