Girls help with craft fair for twinning
Twinning: Happy faces at the craft fair show the girls with helpers and supporters enjoying all the gifts and stalls in the Village Hall at Goosnargh
A little craftiness helped raise a super sum for for two sisters’ twinning mission to Canada.
Former festival queens Poppy and Daisy Haresnape have been chosen as Goosnargh and Whittingham Whitsuntide Festival’s official delegates at the second part of the twinning ceremony between their two villages and the Annapolis Valley Appleblossom Festival over in Nova Scotia.
They organised a craft fundraising day at Goosnargh Village Hall last Sunday with demonstrations also by crafters and the day raised £418 towards the girls’ total. The festival committee’s Stephanie Butters said: “It was absolutely delightful, there was a huge range of crafts.
“ Poppy was showing off felting, made with wool from her own ship, and Daisy had a stall full of greetings cards and knitted badges.
